Through a multimedia artistic practice my work examines constructed social and natural environments. In these works, I employ floral imagery and repetition to comment on gender and social dynamics. Compositions of exaggerating and interchanging positive and negative space, for example, allude to the balance and complementary nature of partnership. Meanwhile works describing “ways of saying no” juxtapose a verdant background with forms of the word “no” to allude to the challenges facing women in negotiating social environments. Through both series I aim to offer insight into personal environments and social positionality.
