Mad Beatz Philly
Guest Artist

Mad Beatz Methods began in 2010 when founder Jesse Mell started teaching drum lessons with a soundtrack of Hip Hop,RnB, and Trap beats. His students loved building skills and learning to read music - playing along to their favorite songs! With more and more song recommendations from his students,Jesse’s original Practice Playlist grew to include more than 300 songs. Inspired by the Practice Playlist, Jesse began to remix his school programs’ concert music with songs on the Practice Playlist and wrote two drum instruction books in the same style, showing music teachers everywhere the Mad Beatz Method of learning and performing. Alumni of Mad Beatz drumline programs formed the supergroup Mad Beatz Philly and hit the road, playing live to DJs at festivals and clubs all the way to Berkley College of Music in Boston!
Mad Beatz Methods is dedicated to these beliefs:
• Kids are passionate about listening to music and interacting with it
• Kids value excellence and do best when they are empowered to self-improve
• Drumlines engage all levels of learners, and every kid should get to play in one!

GLA Drumline Director Dwight Carter and Coach Tahir Harris are excited to bring the Mad Beatz learning method to the Music & Motion Academy drumlines this year.MadBeatzMethods.com  @MadbBeatzMethods (Instagram and Facebook)
