Elliana Kang, 11, is a fifth grader at Cumberland Elementary. She began Suzuki violin lessons with Heather Barker at the UWM String Academy at age 7 and is now studying with Jamie Hofman. She is also in the String Academy's Encore group, led by Sherry Sinift. After studying the violin for a year and a half, she had the honor of participating in a master class with Mimi Zweig.

This is Elliana's second year with MYSO. She has held the position of concertmaster of String Orchestra North in 2023-24 and of Sinfonia in 2024-25. Elliana was named the winner of the String Orchestra Concerto Competition in 2024, the Sinfonia Concerto Competition in 2025, and the 2025 Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Bach Double Competition.

In addition to music, Elliana enjoys reading, swimming, crochet, and baking.
