Anna Lena Derocher is a sophomore at Shorewood High School and studies violin with Pamela Simmons. She has been playing the violin for ten years and is currently in her second year with MYSO, where she serves as a concertmaster of the Senior Symphony. In addition, Anna Lena is a part of Chamber Orchestra and participates annually in the Bach Ensemble under the direction of Ravenna Helson. She has furthered her musical studies at summer programs including the Jacobs School of Music Summer String Academy and the Interlochen Arts Camp.

Her honors include recognition in several concerto competitions, including the WYSO Concerto Competition, an Honorable Mention in MSO’s Stars of Tomorrow Competition, and an Honorable Mention in the Bolz Young Artist Concerto Competition. She is also a 2026 recital recipient of the Civic Music Association’s High School Competition.
