Zackary Muñoz is a high school junior enrolled in online school and has been playing the flute for six years. In that time he has proven himself an extremely talented musician, earning a spot in Senior Symphony and concertmaster of the Chamber Flute Ensemble.
In 2021, Zack was named winner of the MYSO Chamber Flute Ensemble Concerto Competition and, in 2022, was a winner of the Civic Music High School Competition. In 2022, he was selected for and performed with the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) State Honors Orchestra. He has earned several gold medals through the WSMA Solo and Ensemble festivals as well as an exemplary soloist award. In addition, Zack performed in a masterclass with Stephanie Mortimore, Principal Piccolo with the (New York City) Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
Zack has a passion for music and acts as a role model for young musicians, volunteering to teach flute and piano to elementary students at Elm Dale Elementary. His hobbies include cooking, baking, and spending time with his family.
