Abby Debbink
Oboe Soloist

Abby Debbink is a senior at Nicolet High School and has been playing the oboe for seven years. She auditioned into Senior Symphony as a first-time MYSO student two years ago and recently traveled with the orchestra to Belgium and The Netherlands, performing in world-famous venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

In addition to participating in MYSO, Abby serves as the President of Nicolet’s Tri-M Music Honor Society. She also returns to her middle school, Glen Hills, twice a month to work with younger music students. Growing up in downtown Milwaukee, Abby has been a student in the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music since early childhood. In addition to oboe, Abby also plays piano and guitar, and sings.

Apart from music, Abby is an academically gifted student and second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She has been accepted to the Honors Program at the University of Minnesota.

Abby’s solo debut will be Albinoni’s double oboe concerto which she is playing with her MYSO colleague and friend Lydia Morency.

She would like to thank her family, friends, MYSO, and especially her oboe teacher, Mrs. Meaghan Heinrich, for making this opportunity possible.
