Ava Larsen is a high school junior from Pewaukee. She has played cello for nine years and studies with Peter Thomas. She has been a member of MYSO for four years. This is her first year in the Senior Symphony, where she serves as principal cellist. In addition to playing in the Senior Symphony, Ava also plays in the Chamber Orchestra and MYSO chamber ensembles.

This year, Ava was runner-up in the Senior Symphony Concerto Competition and a winner of the Civic Music High School Competition. She also received an honorable mention in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s Stars of Tomorrow Competition in 2023 and 2024.

When she is not playing cello, Ava enjoys reading, drawing, and baking.
