Zoe Wirt

Zoe Wirt is glad to join in the holiday cheer of Sounds of the Season this year. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Zoe is now an established soprano in many local and professional choruses in Birmingham, past and present, including the St. Paul’s Cathedral Choir, Sursum Corda, Iron City Singers, and the Opera Birmingham Chorus. Previous opera roles performed include Helen’s voice in the recent concert reading of Carla Lucero’s new work, Touch, Laetitia in Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief, Nora in Vaughan-Williams’s Riders to the Sea, and a chorus soprano in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, Verdi’s La Traviata, and Thomas’s Hamlet. Beyond her own performing, Zoe teaches musical theatre at Alabama School of Fine Arts and manages the Conservatory of the Arts at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church.
