Two-time Grammy Award-winning artist David Morgans is a promising young American tenor. This past summer, he made his role debut as Nate in William Grant Still’s Highway 1 U.S.A with the Little Opera Theater of New York. He also debuted the role of Laurese Glover in Blind Injustice, an opera by Scott Davenport Williams, at the Opera Theater of the Rockies. Highlights from this season include his return to the Metropolitan Opera for Anthony Davis’ X: The Life and Times of Malcom X and reprising his role as Pledge in Terrence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up In My Bones. Most recently, he appeared as a finalist in the D’Argento Competition with Opera Tampa, a finalist for Chicago Lyric Opera’s Ryan Opera Center and a finalist for the Atlanta Opera Studio. Later this season, Mr. Morgans will sing several concerts. A few features include a concert titled The Callas Centennial in New York City with SAS Performing Arts celebrating Callas at 100 with works by Verdi, Puccini, and Cilea. Next, he’ll travel to Colombia for an evening of Neapolitan songs with the Symphony in Bogotá. Mr. Morgans made his feature film debut as Julio (opposite Greer Grimsley) in She Came to Me, a romcom starring Anne Hathaway and Peter Dinklage, this past fall.
