Phillip Harris
Baritone

Phillip Harris has sung as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center. Solo symphonic engagements include performances with the San Francisco Symphony, the Aspen Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the San Mateo Masterworks Chorale and Orchestra, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Percussion Ensemble. He sang with the San Francisco Opera Chorus (extra chorus) for two seasons and is currently an adjunct professor at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Favorite roles include Marcello and Schaunard in La Bohème, the title roles in Don Giovanni and Le Nozze di Figaro, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Marius in Les Misérables, t he Pirate King in the Pirates of Penzance, and Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus. Other engagements include solos in Messiah and Duruflè’s Requiem. He has a CD available on all major streaming platforms, Phillip Harris in Recital with Damien Sneed, and a book on composer/arranger Jacqueline Hairston entitled Songs and Spirituals: The Life and Music of Jacqueline Hairston.

This season, he sang in the trio of Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti (Reno Chamber Orchestra) and King Arthur in Camelot with one week's notice while also serving as music director (The Mountain Play). Upcoming engagements include The Scottsboro Boys (the musical) as a performer and music director as well as Hines in The Pajama Game, both with 42nd Street Moon.
