Noah Stewart has become one of opera's most sought-after international performers. He made his professional debut with San Francisco Opera as Macduff and since then has performed widely across the US. His roles include, among others, Cavaradossi (Opera New Orleans, Birmingham Opera, Michigan Opera Theater), Rodolfo (Opera Columbus, Nashville Opera, Florentine Opera, New Orleans Opera, Michigan Opera Theater, Orlando Philharmonic), Luigi in Il Tabarro (Castleton Festival), Pinkerton (New Jersey Festival Opera, Michigan Opera Theater), Radames (Glimmerglass Festival, Berks Opera), Manrico (Festival Opera, North Carolina Opera), Ismaele and Nadir (both with Michigan Opera Theater), Don José (Syracuse Opera, Chicago Opera Theater), the title role in Gounod’s Faust (Atlanta Opera), Hoffmann (Nashville Opera), Tamino (Florentine Opera, New Orleans Opera) as well as contemporary repertoire such as Greenhorn in Moby Dick (Opera San José) and the Prince in A Flowering Tree (Chicago Opera Theater).

International career highlights include his debut at Covent Garden as Hassan in Judith Weir’s Miss Fortune, a role he premiered at the Bregenzer Festspiele (Austria), Samson at the Festival International Clásico de Mérida (Spain), Don José at Scottish Opera, Osaka in Iris at Opera Holland Park (UK), Don Pedro Alvarado in Peter Sellars’ acclaimed production of Purcell’s Indian Queen, which premiered at the Bolshoi Opera, Teatro Real Madrid, and Opera Perm (Russia), Pinkerton with Opera North, Rodolfo with Wexford Opera Festival, and Don José at the Royal Albert Hall, Göteborg Opera, the Llangollen Festival in Wales, and Scottish Opera.

Most recently, Stewart sang Don José with Opera Orlando, Rodolfo with Northern Ireland Opera, and Cavaradossi with Portland Opera. Upcoming engagements include Don José and Tony in West Side Story, both with Opera San José.
