Kira Roberts, a Florida native, trained at Florida School for Dance Education in Palm Beach, FL until 2017 under the direction of Michele Zehner, and Maria Konrad. She was then awarded a scholarship to Colorado Ballet’s Pre-Professional division. There, she trained with Erica Fischbach, Roberto Munoz, Mayo Sugano and Colorado Ballet company members. During her time in Denver, she was given the opportunity to perform in Colorado Ballet’s The Nutcracker and Septime Webre’s The Wizard of Oz. Kira was also invited to perform for Robert Sher-Mecherndl with Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet, based in Boulder, CO. In 2020-2021, she danced with Columbia City Ballet directed by William Starrett. Kira joined Ballet Quad Cities in 2021 for their 25th season. Last year Kira danced in multiple works created by Courtney Lyon, Emily Kate Long, and guest choreographers, Lynn Bowman and Domingo Rubio. This past winter, she had the honor to perform one of her favorite roles, Clara, in Courtney Lyon’s The Nutcracker! Along with Clara, Kira has enjoyed performing in Lyon’s Romeo and Juliet and Alice in Wonderland. If that isn't enough, the community engagement BQC provides through outreach programs led by Emily Kate Long has been a rewarding way to teach the next generation about the language of dance. Kira is excited to return to BQC as a company member for the 2022-2023 season!
