Melissa Bagwell made her Opera Idaho debut as “Amor” in Orfeo ed Euridice in 2014 and is currently a member of the company’s Board of Directors. As a soprano with OI’s resident company, she has been featured in numerous Operatinis and concerts and most recently sang in Opera in the Park, Romeo et Juliette, Macbeth, Madama Butterfly, and the role of Pamina in The Mini Magic Flute with Opera Idaho’s community outreach program. Locally, Bagwell has also been a featured soloist with the Boise Phil in Façade, Boise Baroque in Verdi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Coffee Cantata with Boise Classical Revolution, and at the Cathedral of the Rockies.
Prior to living in Idaho, she sang various roles with Opera Bend, Opera Santa Barbara, Opera in the Ozarks, and with the Pacific Lutheran University Opera program, where she earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. Other solo engagements have included the Northwest Sinfonietta, the Central Oregon Symphony, Central Oregon Mastersingers, Cascade Chorale, and The Victorian Carolers vocal quartet.
