Alana Seacord, soprano, is a Boise-based singer with a long career in choral music. She is excited to be making her operatic stage debut as a Resident Artist of Opera Idaho in Puccini’s Suor Angelica in the role of Suor Osmina.
As a vocalist, she has long enjoyed performing recital and choral concert works, including soloist roles as a member of Opera Idaho’s Critical Mass Vocal Artists and as a longtime member of the Boise Philharmonic Master Chorale. Recent performances with Critical Mass Vocal Artists include solo performances of Soon Ah Will Be Done/I Wanna Die Easy arranged by Craig Hella Johnson, and Kalitka, a Russian folk song by Aleksandr Fliarkovsky, and Stephen Paulus’ Hymn to the Eternal Flame. Other recent works include Leonard Bernstein’s Mass and Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil. She has spent many years singing in the Holiday Pops and Handel’s Messiah performances with the Boise Philharmonic, as well as numerous performances of large choral works such as Mozart’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, also singing in collaborative performances with the Boise Baroque Orchestra and the Treasure Valley Concert Band.
Prior to moving to Boise, she resided in Missouri where she toured with the NEMO Singers throughout the Midwest, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Russia, performed at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, and served the community as a member of the Kansas City Symphony Chorus. She holds a minor in music from Truman State University.
