Christina Bell Rode
La Suora Infermiera

Christina Bell Rode, soprano, started to attract attention very early on in life when she landed the soprano solo for a production of Brahms' Requiem at just age 13. Since then, she continued to captivate audiences in her native home of Central Florida. She possesses an instrument of supple lyricism, and dynamic warmth with a performing presence that was "made for the stage." Christina has performed throughout Florida in such roles as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Despina in Così Fan Tutte among others. Most recently (in Spring 2023), she appeared as Musetta in Puccini's beloved La Bohème, with Central Florida Lyric Opera. She has been a featured soloist in oratorio repertoire and has participated in several opera concert tours where she dazzled audiences in Italy and Switzerland. Christina has trained and worked extensively with Bill Doherty (Central Florida Lyric Opera), the legendary soprano Licia Albanese, Marcello Merlini, Andrea Elena, and others. She holds a B.A. in French from the University of Central Florida and is currently a member of Opera Idaho's Resident Company. Christina and her husband David live in Boise, Idaho, where she homeschools their four small children.
