Yaniv Segal
Conductor

Yaniv Segal has achieved critical success since childhood for his work as a conductor, composer, actor, and violinist. A rising star who is “redefining classical music” (Esquire Magazine), Yaniv is currently Music Director of the Salina Symphony, Conductor of the Macon-Mercer Symphony at the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, Music Director of American Patriots, and Conductor Laureate and Artistic Advisor of the Chelsea Symphony. While a child, he sang at the Metropolitan Opera, toured with a Broadway Musical, and acted in a Tom Stoppard play at Lincoln Center. He also performed twice as a violin soloist with his local Yonkers Philharmonic. A former Assistant Conductor of the Naples Philharmonic and Detroit Symphony Orchestras, Yaniv has conducted the Minnesota Orchestra, Kansai Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Cravocia, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, and other ensembles across the United States and Europe. Commercial recordings include Beethoven REimagined with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (Naxos), Joy and Sorrow with the Chelsea Symphony (Chesky Records), and the score to the animated opera The Mice War (Pamaluc Films).  As a composer, his music has recently been performed by the Reno Philharmonic, Sarasota Chamber Orchestra, Ashland Symphony Orchestra, and Norwalk Symphony. Yaniv earned graduate degrees in conducting and composition at the University of Michigan with support from the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans.
