Lighting Design is simply magic. It has the ability to enhance anything.
I am a freelance Lighting Designer and also a Professor of Lighting Design. I have worked in the business for over 25 years and have extensive experience in Lighting Design for Theatre, Musical, Dance, Special Events, Pop Concerts, and Symphony Orchestra Concerts. My current annual schedule includes all of these performance art forms, both inside and outside of my university work.
In my resume you will find that on top of freelancing, I was the lighting director at the Morton H Meyerson Symphony center for over a decade and attained my Master of Fine Arts at the renowned University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music.
All of the art forms play into one another, allowing a great palate of approaches to derive from to make intriguing images. Whether I am lighting Spring Awakening, a Harry Belafonte concert, a ballet, or the orchestral music of Star Wars, I wish to capture the audience's imagination and take them somewhere. I wish to touch their soul so as to help them find a place of rediscovery.
