Timothy Yung
clarinet

Toronto-born clarinetist Timothy Yung enjoys a busy schedule both as a performer and educator across Canada. He completed his Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance at McGill University studying with Michael Dumouchel and his Master of Music at the University of Texas at Austin under the tutelage of Jonathan Gunn. Other important teachers and mentors include Patricia Wait, Ross Edwards, Kimball Sykes, and John Largess.

Tim has held positions with the Saskatoon and Regina Symphony Orchestras, in addition to appearances with the National Arts Centre Orchestra as well as the Kitchener-Waterloo and Niagara Symphony Orchestras, among others. He is a proud alumnus of the National Academy Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.

Tim is also a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher outside of the concert hall. He served as teaching assistant for the clarinet studio during his time at UT Austin, and has since maintained a busy private studio. He has also given masterclasses, sectionals, and online tutorials for various organizations such as the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra, Oakville Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Ontario Provincial Honour Band.
