Böðvar Ingi Hlífarsson Geirfinnsson is a baritone who was born and raised in Iceland; he started his singing journey at five years old in Langholtskirkja. Böðvar kept singing in various choirs for the next two decades. He was a voice student at the Icelandic Conservatory, Menntaskólinn í Tónlist, with Hlíf Behrens Pétursdóttir and Þórunn Guðmundsdóttir, as well as Tónlistarskólinn á Akureyri with Jón Þorsteinsson. Böðvar has attended numerous masterclasses, including one in Copenhagen, Denmark with Gitta-Maria Sjöberg and Matti Borg, and took part in Maghan McPhee’s BIIMA summer program in Breno, Italy for two years. Böðvar has performed at various venues as a soloist and in ensembles, notable mentions being the barbershop quartet Barbari, Fjárlaganefndin, Kammerkór Norðurlands, Dómkirkjukórinn and Langholtskirkjukórinn. Today, Böðvar is a fourth-year voice student under the tutelage of Dr. Nicole Jordan at Dalhousie University.
