Rebecca Swift
Frieda, The Mouse Queen

From Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Rebecca is a dancer and teacher at Stars of Tomorrow Dance Academy (SOT). Her dance journey started at the age of eight when she joined a recreational hip hop class at SOT. Two years later, she joined the competitive team and began to train and compete in contemporary, lyrical, acro, jazz, and ballet. Rebecca’s growing love for ballet flourished while being an assistant for four years, in the assistant program at SOT. Later, in the summer of 2021, Rebecca became a certified ballet teacher after completing her student teacher-in-training program with The Society of Classical Ballet. Since then, she’s taught several classes, in many styles at SOT, and her favourite memory would be entering her first set of students in their ballet exams through The Society of Classical Ballet. Rebecca completed her intermediate ballet exam in March, and is now training in the advanced level, also with the Society. She performed in The Nutcracker in 2019 and 2021 with Halifax Dance and Symphony Nova Scotia. She also attended the Toronto Dance Theatre summer intensive program in 2019 along with receiving several scholarships, awards, and top marks at dance competitions. Rebecca hopes to continue to grow as a dancer and a teacher in the coming years!
