Melissa Doiron

Melissa Doiron is the assistant conductor of Chebucto Symphony Orchestra, co-founder of Glass Winds Ensemble, and Music Director at Charles P. Allen High School in Bedford, Nova Scotia. She is a guest conductor and featured clinician with numerous ensembles such as Nova Sinfonia and the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra.

Melissa has proven to be a leader in music education, presenting frequently at the Nova Scotia Music Educators conference on subjects such as conducting basics and yoga for conductors. She was recently featured on a panel for the Canadian Band Association as a mentor for upcoming music educators. Along with her colleague Pam Paddock, she is a co-founding director of the all-female wind ensemble Glass Winds, which is focused on performing works by women and BIPOC composers. Glass Winds was the feature ensemble in the Spring issue of Canadian Winds Journal.
