Nathan Beeler

Nathan has been the resident conductor for several Halifax ensembles, including  The Scotia Brass and the Dalhousie University Wind Ensemble, and has guest conducted the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra, Nova Sinfonia, and the Chebucto Symphony Orchestra.

Nathan has spoken or presented at the Calgary City Teachers Conference, the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence award winner presentations, the Nova Scotia Music Educators Conference, and the Canadian Music Educators Association Conference. He is a frequent adjudicator and has worked in this capacity in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, and Manitoba.

Nathan holds an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Acadia University and a Master’s degree in Conducting from the University of Manitoba. While in Manitoba, he studied conducting with Earl Stafford, former Music Director of Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Nathan is presently a DMA candidate in Music Education through Boston University.

Nathan received the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence in 2010, one of Canada’s highest awards for educators.
