Shawnee Paul
ji’kmaqn and vocals

Shawnee Paul discovered her passion for music at just six years old when she began learning the piano. Her love for music deepened as she watched her grandfather perform on the fiddle, inspiring her to take up the instrument herself. By age seven, she was taking fiddle lessons, igniting a lifelong connection to music.

Over the years, Shawnee explored a variety of instruments and honed her musical skills, eventually pursuing formal training at Acadia University. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2019, followed by a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in music in 2021.

In addition to teaching and composing, Shawnee regularly performs with the Blue Moose Band and Alan Syliboy and the Thundermakers. Her greatest inspiration comes from her children, Vayla and Oliver, who motivate her to share the transformative joy of music with others.
