Juliet Irving (she/they) is a multimedia artist, graphic designer, and choreographer hailing from Monetta, SC. She earned her MFA in Embodied Interdisciplinary Praxis and a master’s certificate in African and African-American Studies from Duke University, along with a BA in Dance Studies and BFA in Graphic Design from Appalachian State University. Juliet is invested in cultivating radical imagination in rural BIPOC communities with a multidisciplinary practice that immerses audiences into worlds of possibility. Through her work with community members, she continues developing improvisational practices for environmental exploration and collaborative storytelling. Her work has been presented at the International Conference on Movement and Computing, CADD, ACDA, and the Spring Appalachian Dance Ensemble. Juliet has performed in Bill T. Jones’ Continuous Replay restaged by Andrea E. Woods Valdés, in ADF’s Creative Healing Parade, with SLIPPAGE, and in works choreographed by Sherone Price, Marianne Adams, Laurie Atkins, Teena Marie Custer, and Dante Brown. www.julietirving.com
