Leah Versola Kallam

Leah Versola Kallam (she/her) is a North Carolina native, hailing from the town of Pittsboro. Leah studied at Cary Ballet Conservatory under Mariaelana Ruiz and Heather Iler. She began studying modern dance under the instruction of Willie Hinton. Leah attended summer intensives at Carolina Ballet and the American Dance Festival and as a scholarship recipient at American Ballet Theatre in New York City. Shortly after beginning her college studies, Leah was accepted as an Independent Study student at The Alvin Ailey School. At Ailey, Leah continued her studies in the codified techniques of Lester Horton and Martha Graham. She also studied Dunham, West-African, and Contemporary dance. Upon her graduation from The Ailey School, Leah began teaching dance in her hometown at Chatham Dance Connection. Leah then received an offer to teach at Southeast Dance Academy in Wilmington, NC. Since moving to Wilmington, Leah has performed with Opera House Theatre Company. She hopes to continue performing and teaching and is grateful to be considered for this opportunity.
