Emily Horowitz

Emily Horowitz is an NC native who began dancing at age four. She grew up training primarily in classical ballet at the Raleigh School of Ballet under the direction of Mary LeGere and Susan Galdy. She spent summers training at San Francisco Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, American Repertory Ballet, and American Dance Festival—where she fell in love with modern dance. At ADF, she studied Graham technique and performed a restaging of Dark Meadow Suite, set by Blakeley White McGuire and Masha Maddux. In 2021, she received her BA in dance pedagogy from Butler University before returning to Raleigh. Emily teaches ballet, pointe, and modern dance to students of all ages and levels at local studios. She also has a passion for choreography, and her most recent work was selected for performance at Regional Dance America’s Southeast Emerging Choreographer’s Performance in 2022.
