Born in Constanta, Romania, Dan Datcu completed his dance education at the Floria Capsali National Ballet School in Bucharest. In 2005 he started his professional dance career at the Vienna State Opera Ballet in Austria and moved on to work for five different dance companies. He completed several commissioned works as a guest choreographer in the past seven years. Environmental issues and the human condition are the themes that revolve around these creations. In 2022 Datcu enrolled at Palucca University of Dance in the choreography master's programme and remains an active freelance choreographer in central Europe.
