Erin Ellis is a dance artist residing in the greater Houston, TX, area. Erin has performed works by Andy and Dionne Noble of Noblemotion, Adele Nickel, Erica "EG" Gionfriddo, Christa Oliver, Roxanne Gage, Rosely Conz, and Francisco Graciano and toured Graciano's solo The Spinner at festivals including Austin Dance Festival and Westfest Dance in New York City. Having attended intensives with New Dialect and Little House Dance, Erin has studied with Yin Yue, Sidra Bell, Jesse Zaritt, and Heather Stewart. Erin has performed in Barnstorm dance festival in Houston, TX, and conferences, including Texas Dance Improvisation Festival and both regional and national American College Dance Association. Having studied Body-Mind Centering in Tuscania, Italy, she received a certification in the program's nervous system module. Currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Dance at Sam Houston State University, Erin explores the interplay of research, technology, dramaturgy, choreography, and pedagogy. With a process-based approach and a touch of trademark absurdity, her work is an unpredictable hodgepodge of movement invention and theatrical storytelling.
