Aleesha Polite (she/they) is a Philadelphia-based dance artist who has trained in a variety of styles, including jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and improvisation in dance studios located in Southeastern PA. She has spent her summers attending a contemporary ballet intensive and training at her dance studios. She has also worked with a Philadelphia-based ballet company, Klassic Contemporary Ballet Company (KCBC). There, for 4 summers, she trained as a second company member, an apprentice, and a full-time company member. They currently attend the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where they are working towards a BFA in dance. Here, they have performed in works by Katie Swords-Thurman, Tommie-Waheed Evans, Sidra Bell, Jesse Zaritt, Shayla-Vie Jenkins, Niall Jones, Paul Matteson, Courtney Henry, and Netta Yerushalmy. They have also had the opportunity to be picked for the summer intensive CAMPING in Paris (2022) through the university and were immersed in French culture, dance, making, and performing a new work that premiered in the Marathon of Schools and cultivating a class to teach at the CND for other students attending the intensive.
