Zoë Robertson is from Maple Valley, WA, and is currently a Philadelphia-based and Seattle-based movement artist. She grew up dancing, training, and performing at Alaska Dance Theatre, Ensemble Ballet Theatre, Evergreen City Ballet, and Allegro Performing Arts Academy. She is currently attending The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, as a rising sophomore, where she is pursuing her BFA in Dance, studying under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield. While at school, she took part in five original works and processes, one being Hope in the Hyphenated Space created by Jhelan Gordan Salaam and Paul Matteson. Zoë is interested in continuing her practice with the ideas of exploration, risk-taking, and boundary-pushing discovery in mind. She is working to find a balance between the technical and creative side of her style, and she aims to perform in and create work that values community, inspires change, and expands the minds and hearts of all involved. She believes deeply in the healing nature of dance and artistic avenues and wants to share that with others. Zoë enjoys exploring the partnership between dance, other art forms, and the world in which it lives. She is a zealous young artist and is so excited to be at ADF fostering and growing her artistry.
