Dan Ruccia is a violist, writer, and graphic designer based in Durham. He received his PhD in Music Composition from Duke University where he studied with Stephen Jaffe and Scott Lindroth. He is an active participant in the Triangle free improvisation community, playing with Cyanotype, Polyorchard, and assorted other groups. His most recent album as Cyanotype, Birdsongs of the Necromancer, is available on Bandcamp. When he’s not working at the North Carolina Museum of Art, he can be found spinning records at WPRB-Princeton, rock climbing, and watching his daughter's soccer games.
