Mary Catherine Matthews graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Dance, Wellness, and Community Health. MC is passionate about people and cares deeply about human flourishing. She is grateful to have worked with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, COMPLEXIONS Contemporary Ballet Company, and Janis Brenner during each of their USC residencies. MC also loved collaborating with two dance peers and a visual artist, Anna Grace Lafaye, to devise an in-gallery dance work. MC was awarded a $3,000 Magellan Scholar Grant to fund her research on postural feedback during creative movement. Mary Catherine plans to move to NYC in August 2024 to learn from and create with other artists and community leaders.
