Xián Martínez is the director of iXa. iXa was born in 2020 as a dance company with a mixed identity between Galicia, Euskadi, and Navarra whose artistic axis is contemporary scenic creation, designed specifically for non-specialist audiences, working with accessible dramaturgies and elements that connect with the collective imagination. At iXa, we create works where audience, message, and aesthetics always go hand in hand. We currently have theater pieces on tour, Pioneras//Aitzindariak, Nik•Eu 2•0, and Ollos cara adentro. iXa has made numerous tours, both nationally and internationally, visiting countries from Mexico to Bulgaria with his works. In the last year alone, he has accumulated a total of fourteen awards for his artistic works. iXa has created works for other platforms and companies, such as Black Leaves Dance Company in Washington D.C., The École de la Danse Contemporaine de Montreal in Canada, the Basque company DAB, and the CDAN of Lugo in Spain.
