Massachusetts native Eric Lu first garnered international attention as a prize-winner at the 2015 Chopin International Competition in Warsaw at just 17 years old. He went on to win First Prize at The Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018, and is also a recipient of the 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant. Eric is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music. In recent seasons, he has appeared in recital at Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Wigmore Hall, St. Petersburg Philharmonia, Seoul Arts Centre, Grand Theatre Shanghai, and Sala São Paulo, and has collaborated with several other renowned orchestras. Now an artist-in-demand, upcoming performances include appearances at London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, and Oslo Philharmonic, and others. He will also give recitals at the Elbphilharmonie, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cologne Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall, NY’s 92nd St Y, and Leipzig Gewandhaus. In 2020, Eric debuted his first studio album featuring the Chopin 24 Preludes and Schumann’s Geistervariationen, which received critical acclaim including one of BBC Music Magazine’s ‘Instrumental Records of the Year’.
