Harpist Bridget Kibbey illuminates the powerful and expressive range of the concert harp to new audiences around the world. Her virtuosic and soulful performances easily crossover classical, global and jazz genres, diving deep into baroque music, French Belle Époque, Nuevo Latino traditions and beyond. Her 2023 solo recording with Pentatone Records, Crossing the Ocean, features special guest soprano Dawn Upshaw.

Kibbey is a winner of a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Premiere Prix at the Journées de les Harpes Competition, among others, and is the only harpist to win a place in the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Bowers Program. She has recorded with luminaries including Placido Domingo, Kathleen Battle and Gustavo Santaollalo for SONY Records and Deutsche Grammophon; her own solo debut album, Love is Come Again, was named one of the Top Ten Releases by Time Out New York

Recent performance highlights include appearances at Toronto’s Koerner Hall, Dumbarton Oaks, Alice Tully Hall with Artists of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, as well as appearing as concerto soloist at “Madison’s Concerts at the Capitol” with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. As a concerto soloist, Kibbey has appeared with orchestras around the world. She has also appeared as soloist and chamber musician at festivals and series across the globe, including Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart, Aspen, Spoleto and Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, among others.

Her love for producing her own touring projects finds her performing with a growing rolodex of curation-meets-performance appearances. One of her latest projects includes a newly commissioned concerto by Brazilian composer Joao Luiz Rezende, which explores the sounds of Carnaval on the harp. Other powerful collaborations include The Sacred in the Profane that explores French Masterworks of the Belle Époque alongside the famed Calidore String Quartet; Leyenda which celebrates Nuevo Latino Voices alongside Latin-Grammy winning percussionist/composer Samuel Torres and acclaimed clarinetist Ismail Lumanovski; as well as her own adaptations of keyboard Concerti and Sonatas of J.S. Bach with the Dover Quartet, and duo performances with mandolinist Avi Avital. in 2026, she launches performances of the Clarice Assad Harp Concerto with multiple orchestras.
