The Rum Runners are: Joe Wilkins on guitar and vocals, Joe Kessler on fiddle/mandolin and Luke Conlin on standup bass. The band’s founder, Joe Wilkins, is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, studio musician and music instructor. Living on Boston’s North Shore, Wilkins writes, records and performs continuously in the Greater Boston area and throughout the Northeast. Starting on drums and percussion, Joe picked up the guitar at 14 years old and has been playing and performing for over 20 years. Recording and gigging in pop, Afrobeat, folk, rock, bluegrass and funk bands – Joe is a seasoned player in many genres and plays both electric and acoustic guitar. He also plays bass guitar, ukulele and mandolin, occasionally the drum set and he plays banjo terribly but enough to make people smile.
