Rodney Stith
CBMF performer

Rodney Stith is an African-American soul singer, songwriter and producer from Petersburg, Va. There, he grew up singing and playing gospel music in church and with local gospel groups. He learned how to play the piano from his grandfather and the guitar from his uncle. His powerful, urban, retro soul brings back the soulful sound of the retro, classic, rhythm and blues. He comes across with a smooth edge mellow on the mind, yet powerful enough to stir new emotion with each note. Stith’s music captures the hearts and souls of some of the all-time greats and he has become a bridge between artists old and new. He won the Grand Jury of Music at the Richmond International Film and Music Festival in both 2019 and 2020. He’s also garnered the 2021 Critics Choice Award and 2022 Soul Vision Award.
