Youth Orchestra Program

The Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra Program, founded in 1862 is the Symphony’s flagship education program. The youth orchestra provides students of all skill levels with ensemble-based training. Under Richmond Symphony School of Music, the program has grown to include 5 ensembles, with students partaking in weekly rehearsals, coaching and masterclasses, solo and chamber music performances, and mentoring. The Richmond Symphony’s Youth Orchestra Program is the leading orchestral training program in the region. RSSoM promises accessibility by providing financial assistance, scholarships, access to instruments, and transportation assistance to those in need.  These efforts are made to facilitate pathways for all to hone their skills and grow with their peers. The Youth Orchestra Program continues to grow in size and scope, due to supporters like you. We look forward to the 2024-2025 season of continued community engagement through performance and exciting collaborations.
