Artega Wright, hailing from Dallas, TX, is an electrifying singing actor making waves in the Midwest arts scene. He began his professional journey in 2017 alongside the legendary Kathleen Battle in Chicago, quickly captivating audiences with his powerful voice and dynamic stage presence.

A valued collaborator of the Chicago Opera Theater, Artega has excelled in productions like Jake Heggie’s *Moby Dick* and Errollyn Wallen’s *Quamino’s Map*. In 2023, he solidified his reputation as a formidable talent in the opera world by portraying Sam in Lyric Opera of Chicago’s *The Factotum*

He has become a resident favorite at both Opera Columbus and Dayton Opera, shining as Zaretsky in *Eugene Onegin* and the Fairy Godfather in *Cinderella*, among other roles. During his artist-in-residence tenure with Dayton Opera, he engaged with students through the program *Who Wants to Be an Opera Star*

Beyond performing, Artega, who identifies as neurodivergent, is dedicated to community service as an instructional aide and stage door attendant.
