Daniel Bondaczuk is a musician who has worked as a composer, arranger, and producer in various musical genres throughout his career. His passion for music has been an essential part of his life. Born and raised in the suburbs of São Paulo, Brazil, Daniel's early years were spent singing and playing in the church choir. Over the years, his shifting focus directed him towards a variety of activities within music, creating a palette that makes him a uniquely versatile musician.
In his home country, Daniel's early work as an arranger drew attention when, by invitation of the producer Thiago Marques Luis, he signed the music direction and arrangements of several albums that were nominated for the acclaimed "Prêmio da Música Brasileira" between 2013 and 2016. Two of these projects featuring radio era legends Cauby Peixoto and Angela Maria earned the award in the "Best Popular Song Album" and "Best Album in Foreign Language" categories in 2014 and 2016, respectively. His music aspirations extended beyond the boundaries of Latin America, prompting his relocation to Nashville, where he lives with his wife and children.
Upon arriving in the US, Daniel felt compelled to dedicate more time to his work as composer. His unique sound is primarily classical, often with spiritual themes, and incorporates contemporary and jazz elements. However, he doesn’t like to be constrained by these labels and prefers to avoid boxing descriptions. In 2015, Daniel’s piece “Cantate Domino Canticum Novum”, a classical composition for two pipe organs, received the "Joaquim Simões da Hora Composition Award" in Portugal. The piece was performed and recorded at the two historical organs in the Church of the Clerigos in Oporto by organists João Vaz and Javier Artigaz, and can be found in the album "Organs in Dialogue."
In recent years, Daniel has been able to reconnect with his roots in church music, serving as music director at the Madison Campus Seventh-Day Adventist Church and music associate at Judson Baptist Church. He has created numerous large-scale works for choir, which he has premiered with his own ensemble of musicians and singers in Madison. In addition to his work as a composer, Daniel has also lent his skills as an arranger to various Christian music publishers, including Lifeway Worship and Brentwood Benson. He has also collaborated with other composers and songwriters, such as Amber Maxwell, Greg Nelson, and Phillip Keveren. Their most recent collaborations, the Cantata "Triune Mystery," and their collective album “Sacred Choral Works” were released in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Furthermore, Daniel has contributed to a growing collection of production music for the label Bigger Story Music, with some of his works featured on popular TV shows like Love is Blind Brazil and Devil Among Us.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Daniel is an active member of the Nashville community, serving as a board member for the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra, a prominent local community orchestra. He holds a Master's degree in Composition from Middle Tennessee State University and a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from the University of São Paulo.
