Cassandra Zoé Velasco is considered one of Mexico's rising stars of opera, having starred in productions in Mexico City, including La Scala di Seta, L'Ocassione fa il Ladro, La Cenerentola, Le Comte Ory, Italiana in Algeri and Werther. She made her Opera de Bellas Arts debut as Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana, followed by Rosina in Il barbiere di Sivigla. With the Metropolitan Opera she has appeared in productions of The Merry Widow, Iolantha, Rusalka, and Suor Angelica. Additional recent highlights include her role debut as Carmen with Annapolis Opera, her debut with Fort Worth Opera as Isabel/Dolores in El pasado nunca se termina, Dorabella in Così fan tutte with Opera San Jose, Maria de Buenos Aires with Nashville Opera, Rodrigo in Pia de' Tolomei with Spoleto USA, and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Opera Santa Barbara and Lyric Opera of Kansas City.
