Jacob Pagone is a 16 year old oboist from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He is a junior attending Lincoln High School. As the youngest of four siblings, all making music from a young age, he grew up with a love for music in all forms. All four siblings play piano, and from years of parents sitting across the bench to proactive, each participates in music together in their ow way.
As a believer in South Dakota's community of music, he plays in the South Dakota Symphony Youth Orchestra, Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Sioux Falls Municipal Band, and is called to play in college ensembles around the area. In addition to playing oboe, Pagone plays flute and viola and various other instruments when asked. He currently studies with SDSO principal oboist Jeffrey Paul, and has been playing oboe for four years.
Pagone attended Interlochen Center of the Arts Oboe Intensive in the summer of 2022 and Tanglewood Oboe Intensive and Tanglewood Young Artist Orchestra in 2023. A few from the many musicians that influence him include Alexander Borodin, Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Nick Drake, and Dolly Parton.
