Having a keen interest in the intersections of sound, music, and technology and studying the physics of sound gave David Etlinger a whole different perspective. This newfound way of looking at the world led him to explore all aspects of sound, not just music but speech and even noise. Recognizing that people experience the emotional influence of music, but often neglect sound in everyday life—the reverent hush of a library or the buzz of activity when entering a high-rise lobby—David understands that these have a powerful impact on people’s daily journeys. This is what caught his interest and directed him into the field of acoustics.
