Executive Director, Pioneer Valley Symphony

Speaking at Survive to Thrive: Why Community is Central to our Success

Janna Walters-Gidseg is Executive Director of the Pioneer Valley Symphony, one of the oldest community orchestras in the U.S. Based in Western Massachusetts, the PVS connects, engages, inspires, and enhances the community by providing opportunities to make, appreciate, and learn about music. The PVS is above all a strong community of musicians and music lovers who gather for innovative, accessible programming and educational opportunities. The PVS is proud to introduce the community to new works, unfamiliar composers, and unique perspectives, building on a legacy of excellence in performance through professional-quality performances and access to world-class soloists, composers, and scholars. For the 150-some PVS orchestra musicians and chorus singers, and for the thousands of audience members and education program participants, the symphony encourages and nourishes a life-long love of music, making the joy of classical ensemble music welcoming and accessible to all.
