Nusspaumer has been soloist among others with the Miami Symphony, the Charleston Symphony, Ankara’s Presidential Symphony Orchestra, the Odessa Philharmonic, Orchestra Firenze, the Philharmonic of Montevideo, the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra in such diverse works as Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, Handel’s Messiah, Bruckner’s Te Deum and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
Martín received an Artist Diploma from the School of the Arts in Charleston, graduated from the Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artist Program and was a finalist in the Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition and the Southern Region Auditions of the Metropolitan Opera.
He has sung the leading roles in La Boheme, La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, Luisa Fernanda, Eugene Onegin, La battaglia di Legnano, Don Giovanni, Thais, Nabucco, Falstaff, and L’Elisir d’Amore.
The past seasons Martín offered recitals throughout the United States, appearing as Leandro in La Tabernera del Puerto in Oviedo, Spain, as well as Rodolfo in La Boheme with ABAO in Bilbao, Spain. He sang the opera Dulce Rosa by Lee Holdridge at the National Auditorium in Montevideo, Uruguay and debuted the role of Don Jose in Carmen with Vero Beach Opera. He also appeared as Leonardo in a new production of Cecilia Valdés at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
This season he will return to Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, Spain as Prince Sergio in Katiuska and Vero Beach Opera as Rodolfo in La Boheme, also will sing Alfredo in La Traviata with Miami Lyric Opera.
Mr. Nusspaumer lives in South Florida with his wife, the distinguished mezzo-soprano Maria Antunez and their daughter Amelia.
