Dr. Ryan D. Romine is the associate professor of bassoon at Shenandoah Conservatory. While on sabbatical he decided to write a book on bassoon extended techniques: Bassoon Reimagined: A Sourcebook for Performers and Composers. In the back of the book are the Fantastic Tales: 32 Character Studies on Bassoon Extended Technique. Children’s story tells a story accompanied by extended techniques to create sound effects with the bassoon as you put it together.
