John Tuvera-Lim is a second-year graduate student of Dr. Byron Jones pursuing a Master of Music in vocal performance at Shenandoah Conservatory. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, John graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a bachelor's degree in vocal performance and was awarded Outstanding Bachelor of Music Performance by the School of Music. His former teachers there were professors Shelby VanNordstrand and Alisa Belflower.

In past productions, John has played the role of Polyphemus in Händel’s Acis and Galatea, Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, the Father in Hansel and Gretel, and Barabashkin in Shostakovich's Moscow, Cheryomuski

After his graduation this May at Shenandoah University, John will spend two months in upstate New York performing four productions at Seagle Festival, where he will play the title role in Tom Cipullo's Mayo Buckner. This fall, he will attend Boston Conservatory for a Graduate Performance Diploma in Opera and will study under Dr. Rebecca Folsom.
