Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, Emanuel Singletary strives for excellence in performance and portraying emotion through song and theater. He has had a remarkable performance career in the Bergen County area throughout high school and has since continued his performing journey at Shenandoah University (SU). Some of his roles include The Defendant (Trial by Jury), Flute (Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Ensemble (Hydrogen Jukebox) and Sergei (Moscow, Cheryomushki), to name a few. He has performed the National Anthem for the New Jersey Representative Josh Gottheimer. He also was a semi-finalist in the George Shirley Vocal Competition. He is excited to take his final bow at SU and wishes to thank his friends, family, teachers and colleagues for making his time at SU memorable. He would also like to thank Bob Ross for teaching him compassion, Edith Piaf for teaching him theatrics, Dame Shirley Bassey for teaching him emotion, and Superman for teaching him to hope is a beautiful thing and that being good is its own reward. Lastly he would like to thank two of the most important people that he has had the pleasure of knowing at SU, he thanks you both profusely. Emanuel Singletary is currently an undergraduate student at Shenandoah University pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Voice).
