Leonhard Baumgartner, born in 2007 in Vienna, studies with Dora Schwarzberg at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. His studies also took him to the University of Music in Graz and Munich, where he has been studying with Regina Brandstätter since 2019 and with Ingolf Turban since 2022.

He has won numerous national and international awards, including the second prize at Il Piccolo Violino Magico 2021, the first prize at the prestigious Zhuhai International Mozart Competition 2022, and the Discovery Award of the ICMA 2023. He is the London Young Musician of the Year 2023 in the violin category and a scholarship holder at the International Music Academy Liechtenstein.

As a soloist, Leonhard Baumgartner has already performed with renowned orchestras, including the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, the Philharmonie Baden-Baden, NFM Philharmonic Wroclaw, the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra, and the Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra. In 2022, he toured with the Ensemble Esperanza. In the 2023/24 season, he returns to the Konzerthaus Vienna to perform at the Jeunesse Musicale concerts.

He plays a valuable violin by J.B. Vuillaume (Paris 1854), generously provided to him by a member of the Stretton Society.
