A D.C. native, Jeffrey Mumford’s latest work is a romantic exploration of the nuanced timbres of Balance Campaign’s instrumentation. After presenting an opening statement that simulates an echo in a deep cavern, Mumford gives each player a rhapsodic solo highlighting their unique expressive elements. This work was commissioned by the Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning Program with additional funding from the Melon Foundation.
